Surul Suprity Society is a Non-government organization for rural development and socio-economical upliftment of the villagers in Surul. Our Society has been established in 1998 and registered in 2001. In 2001 the organization has been recognized as a registered NGO under West Bengal Society Registration Act, 1961 and u/s 12AA of the Income Tax Act 1961 and also earned the certificate for Exemption u/s 80G of I.T. Act. 1961.
Aims & Objectives
From Learning to Mastery : A Visual Display of Artisan Skill
Integrated Village Development Program
Hen/ Pig/ Duck/ Mushroom/ Goat Farming, Bee Keeping, Vermi Composting, Kitchen Gardening, Local handicrafts, Food products producing, etc. Benefited from the projects. Initially, they were earning Rs. 1,000 per month, but with the intervention, their earnings have increased to Rs. 6,000 with some even earning up to Rs.50,000 per month.

Who We Are
Surul Suprity Society initially started working in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Suri, Birbhum in and around the tribal areas of Santiniketan. We received the District Best Club award, under Nehru Yuva Kendra, Birbhum, Govt. of India. Later we become associated to NABARD as one of its CDAs (Cluster Development Agency). From 2008 to 2013 we worked according to the project line ‘Tourism cum Handicraft Cluster in and around Santiniketan’ under NABARD. During this interval and even after, we are working for the betterment of the SHGs, Villagers and Farmers. We held in our Society complex various training programmes, cultural functions and seminars. Our Society is working with NABARD, Bose Institute, Kolkata, BIRD, Bolpur, Bharatiya Suramondal Academy, Santiniketan, Central Board for Workers Education (CBWE) and other organizations.
