Increasing the Solapith Production and Marketing

In present circumstances of crafts and local handicraft products have very vital roles in changing the socio-economic conditions of rural artisans and people with a view to the above. Surul Suprity Society organized Solapith training programme of local people of Surul village for the financial support of NABARD during 2008-13. The training programme was provided both male and female artisans and SHG members those who were interested about the handicraft of sola materials. After completion of training programme the trained people has engaged themselves to produce handicraft sola materials as a result a significant change has been found among the members to uplift their socio-economic condition. It may also be mentioned that In and around Santiniketan there is a demand of Sola produced materials.

It is fact that any type of handicraft and cottage activity requires raw materials and diffident machine and tools. In case of Sola handicraft materials the trained persons and artisans are very eager to increase their production to meet the demand have the market but the due to the lack of sufficient fund it is not possible for them to purchase raw materials and necessary articles for the purpose. Over the cost of raw materials and articles is also increasing day by day. Therefore supporting fund is very vital for the people those who have received training organized by Surul Suprity Society and supported by NABARD. If fund is available the trained people will be increased the production for earning their livelihood and changing the socio-economic condition of their families. Therefore it is very essential to provide loan from the banks so that the artisans increase their production and earn handsome amount of money by selling the produced materials.
